Formation of PAD: People’s action for Development (PAD) is an organization that was conceptualized on 25 Dec.2001 at Mission Baligoan in Gogamukh, a small town of Dhemaji district in Assam. This organization was formed basically for the socio-economic development of socially backward classes, mainly Adivasis and tribal .

 A group of well conscious Adivasi people from different localities had been discussing about the miserable conditions and stagnations of development of various classes of the society. So at last we came to a conclusion that an organization can eliminate these problems and with a general consensus PAD was given birth.

 Persons involved: Mr.Wilfred Topno elected secretary, who was connected with the birth of several  Adivasi organization e.g.  Youth body ,AAWAA(2003 women organization), PAJHRA(2002 social organization) &  promoted them. The Social worker and teacher ,Mr.Suren M Orang elected president of the organization . Mr.Louis Soren ,Mr.Noel Lomga ,Miss.Karmila and Mr.John Ekka were the key members who worked for the organization. Mr.L.F.Minz of Indo-Global Social Service was the helping the group with the concept & philosophy of NGO.    

  Bosco Reach out ,Ullubari,Guwahati, Supported and guided in the development of PAD.

In the year 2002 it was registered under society registration Act1860.

Major Activities:-

2001-2002 went without much activity of social welfare but it was planning and legalizing the organization and sharing of ideas went on.

2003          started social work with formation of Self Help Group.voluteers of PAD visited villages like  Nogaon, mukulbari, bordoi T.E ,Ananda TE, Borola, Rupohi,Naharbari  etc and motivated villagers to form Self help group. PAD had 50 SHG at the end of the year.

2004          BRO supported the SHGs through IGSSS project.

2005        Activities of pad increased to 4 blocks .Several Trainings on SHG management took place . 4 SHG clusters are formed . there were 105 SHG Promoted by PAD .St.Don Bosco School started for the Tea Garden Adivasi children . 

2006          Subansiri Gaonlia Bank came forward to support The SHG through loan. Live Stock management Training was given to SHG members through BRO and IGSSS.

2007              There was worst flood in the Bordoloni and lotak area . IGSSS came forward to support the victim by relief and rehabilitation program of German Agro Action funded by European commission .PAD was fully involved in the operation providing resource available with the organization namely personal and data collected by the organisation. It has formed Disaster committees in its area with SHG .
