Staff of People’s Action for Development (PAD) organised meetings in 10 villages of Lakhimpur District in Assam from 22nd – 27th February to facilitate the formation of Youth and Children’s Groups. Through these meetings, PAD was able to reach a total of 821 participants – out of these 351 were male and 470 were female.
In these meetings, the PAD team explained the purpose of the groups – to raise awareness on key issues in the community and generate change. Participants were encouraged to set goals for themselves and the groups. Overall, there are 20 people per Children’s group across the 10 villages involved in the project.
